Who we are
The Triad Film Collaborative is a grassroots organization founded in November 2017 by Ken Comito of Brain Juice Productions which soon merged with a group of filmmakers led by Peter Bodin. Together, they coordinated opportunities for filmmakers to learn through doing by creating short films and developing projects. As the group grew, they saw a need for further organization to establish a viable network that wouldn’t implode from lack of structure.
After several meetings and a lot of discussion, an organizational committee was created in February 2020 which included Ken, Peter, Tiffany Albright, Iris Carter, Stephen van Vuuren, and Sarah Glover. The committee appointed Iris as the leader. All of the organizers volunteer their time.
By May 2020, in spite of a world pandemic, the TFC website was launched and the monthly newsletter established. Structure of officers and formation of bylaws are currently under review and will be presented to the membership in the near future.
Currently, there is no treasury. Any money collected through public screenings is spent to reimburse those who have donated website hosting or advanced payment to cover administrative expenses.
